Richard Philp qualified as a teacher of Fine Art at the University of Wales.

He became a leading London art dealer, specialising in Renaissance and Medieval Sculpture, Antiquities and Contemporary Art.

He is regularly invited to exhibit at such major art fairs as the International Show, New York, the European Fine Arts Fair, Maastricht, and the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, London. He is a patron of the Courtauld Institute of Art.
